The South Gippsland Landcare Network works with the community to protect and enhance the long-term economic, social and environmental viability of the South Gippsland Region.

South Gippsland is located in South East Victoria and takes in the mountain forests of the Strzelecki Ranges, the Foothills, river and flats in between, to the surrounding Bass Strait Coastline.

South Gippsland is characterised by its high rainfall, rolling green hills, fertile soils, reliable seasons and diversity of agricultural systems, making it one of the most productive farming areas in Australia.

The South Gippsland Landcare Network covers 4000 sq Kms across the South Gippsland and Bass Coast shire areas. From Phillip Island in the West across to Welshpool in the East and from Mirboo North, down to our southern most group at Yanakie near Wilson's Promontory. Within these two shires there are thirty-two landcare groups, tackling a wide range of land management issues. Together these groups form the South Gippsland Landcare Network.
